Preparation
- Bring the water to a boil in a pot and add the butter and salt.
- Once melted, remove from heat and add the flour, stirring vigorously until a smooth dough forms.
- Let cool slightly, then add the eggs one at a time, mixing until the dough is smooth and elastic.
Frying
- Heat oil in a deep pan to 180 degrees Celsius.
- Using a spoon, drop small portions of the dough into the hot oil.
- Fry until golden brown, then drain on paper towels and serve warm.
Notes
Serve warm, optionally dusted with powdered sugar or served with chocolate sauce for dipping. Can also be enjoyed plain or with fillings such as cream or jam. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for a few days.
