  • 2 tablespoons Extra virgin olive oil For the dough and cooking.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Cook legumes if necessary (e.g., boil lentils until tender).
  2. Steam or grill vegetables to enhance flavor.
  3. Mash or blend the cooked ingredients with a fork or immersion blender to maintain some texture.
  4. Mix in olive oil, salt, and pepper. Add optional spices if desired.
  5. Shape the mixture into burger patties.
Cooking
  1. Cook the burgers in a non-stick skillet with a drizzle of olive oil for about 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown.
  2. Alternatively, use an air fryer at 180°C for 10-12 minutes.
Serving
  1. Create a 'burger bar' with whole-grain bread, fresh salads, and various toppings.
  2. Serve on a wooden board or colorful plates with sweet potato fries or grilled vegetables.
Storage
  1. Cool cooked burgers completely and store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days.
  2. For longer storage, freeze with parchment paper between them for up to three months.

Notes

Make sure not to blend the ingredients too finely to retain shape during cooking. Experiment with spices for a unique flavor.
